1975年にカメラ雑誌『カメラ毎日』の別冊として刊行された東松照明(1930-2012)の写真集『太陽の鉛筆』の待望の新装版。二分冊の造本だが、「太陽の鉛筆 1975」では当時の構成や順序は変えず、新たな装いで刊行、「太陽の鉛筆 2015」は「太陽の鉛筆」以後の既発表・未発表の中から厳選し、伊藤俊治と今福龍太の論考が付されている。年代を越えて新たな編集意図と視点、そして印刷技術の進歩によって東松の残したものが再びアップデートされた。

The long-awaited new edition of Shomei Tomatsu's (1930-2012) photo book "The Pencil of the Sun", which was published as a separate issue of the camera magazine "Camera Mainichi" in 1975. Although it is a two-volume book, "The Pencil of the Sun 1975" is published in a new format without changing the original structure and order, while "Pencil of the Sun 2015" is a carefully selected selection of works published and unpublished since "Pencil of the Sun," with essays by Shunji Ito and Ryuta Imafuku. Over the years, what Tomatsu left behind has been updated again with new editorial intentions and perspectives, as well as advances in printing technology.

人類史上初めてネガポジ法による写真技術「カロタイプ」を発明したウィリアム・ヘンリー・フォックス・タルボット(1800-1877)が1844年に出版した世界初の写真集『自然の鉛筆』。本書はその完全訳の日本語版。原寸大の図版に、タルボット自身の重要な言葉も収録、さらに本書をめぐる写真家、美術家、研究者らによるエッセイも付加されている。原本は稀覯本ゆえ入手はほぼ不可能な現況に、この邦訳本の存在は大いに意義があると言える。

William Henry Fox Talbot (1800-1877), the inventor of the calotype, the first photographic technique using the negative-positive method in human history, published the world's first photobook, "The Pencil of Nature," in 1844. This book is a complete Japanese translation of that work. It includes full-size illustrations, important quotes from Talbot himself, and essays by photographers, artists, and researchers related to the book. Given that the original is a rare book and virtually impossible to obtain, the existence of this Japanese translation is of great significance.

This is a comprehensive fashion book dedicated to Valentino, the fashion brand founded in Rome, Italy. The brand’s creative output is widely considered to have evolved significantly through the contemporary, feminine designs of Maria Grazia Chiuri (Creative Director until 2016) and Pierpaolo Piccioli (Creative Director until 2024). Given that Rome—the Maison’s birthplace—served as one of their most vital sources of inspiration, the book is titled *Mirabilia Romae*, an Italian phrase meaning "extraordinarily magnificent Rome." It features a wealth of stunning photography that captures the essence of Valentino’s history—ranging from full-view and detailed shots of the Rome-based Haute Couture collections to glimpses inside the atelier and archival images.

HIPHOPにフォーカスした専門雑誌『BLUEPRINT』。出版人である写真家・小田駿一は、これまで友人の紹介や撮影の仕事を通じて知り合ったラッパーたちの人間性や楽曲に惚れ込んだことから、かつて存在していたヒップホップ専門雑誌を再び創刊することを決意した。本書は創刊準備号の0号から2号までの三冊に、これら既刊3号のインタビュー記事の再録(唾奇のインタビューは未収録)+BADSAIKUSH(舐達麻)の特集を新たに収録した総集編的一冊『BLUEPRINT THE RECORDS』を合わせた全四冊セット。0号はZeebraとSEEDA、1号は唾奇とILL-BOSSTINO、2号はLEXとANARCHYの両面表紙仕様。

*BLUEPRINT* is a specialty magazine focused on hip-hop. Shunichi Oda—a photographer and publisher—decided to revive a defunct hip-hop magazine after becoming captivated by the personalities and music of the rappers he had met through friends and photography assignments. This four-volumes set includes the three previously released volumes (vol.0—the pre-launch edition—through vol.2) and a new compilation volume titled *BLUEPRINT THE RECORDS*. The compilation features reprints of interviews from the original three volumes (excluding the interview with Tsubaki) alongside a new special feature on BADSAIKUSH (NAMEDARUMA). The original volumes feature dual-sided covers: Zeebra and SEEDA for vol.0; Tsubaki and ILL-BOSSTINO for vol.1; and LEX and ANARCHY for vol.2.

A visual book that summarizes the history of the 12 years from 1988 to 1999 when fashion brand Martin Margiela debuted. At the suggestion of the street editing room that publishes her fashion magazine "STREET", Margiela herself selected and art-directed the photographs, and edited, produced and published them in the street editing room. A set of two volumes, a December separate volume published in 1995 and an April issue separate volume published in 1999.

台湾・台南を拠点に主に写真、インスタレーション、レディメイドといった表現手法を用いて制作を行っているアーティスト、張慧欣(Hui-Hsin Chang)の初めてとなる写真集。都市の中で撮影された写真を、写真集の伝統的な見方から脱却しようと試みるために、片面に印刷された写真プレートと両面印刷された写真プレートを綴じずに収録、別刷で青色表紙の中綴じブックレット1冊、そして真空パックされた路上からの収集物(本書では段ボール片)と、印画紙に写された同じ物の写真が収録されており、イメージと実物との関係性を考察している。見るという行為を試される造本設計。サインあり。

This is the debut photobook by Hui-Hsin Chang, an artist based in Tainan, Taiwan, whose practice primarily employs mediums such as photography, installation, and readymades. To break away from traditional conventions of viewing a photobook, the work comprises a collection of unbound photographic plates—some printed on one side and others on both—alongside a separate saddle-stitched booklet with a blue cover. It also includes a vacuum-packed object collected from the street (a piece of cardboard in this instance) and a photograph of that same object printed on photographic paper, thereby exploring the relationship between image and physical reality. The book’s design challenges the very act of looking. Signed copy.

Multi-Deimensional View Searching for Meaning of Existence 2009年11月19日から12月31日の会期で、中国・成都の7788 Contemporary Art Spaceで開催された「成都当代撮影展」に合わせて制作されたカタログ。8人の中国人ヴィジュアルアーティストが参加。それぞれ代表作を一点とプロフィールを記したプレート各1枚、8人のポートレイトのポスター1枚を収納。特徴的なタイプフェイスでレイアウトされた大判のポスターを折り重ねた表紙は、各プレートを収めるポケットとしても機能しており、良いデザインだと思うがクレジットの記載はない。

Multi-Deimensional View Searching for Meaning of Existence This catalog was produced in conjunction with the "Chengdu Contemporary Photography Exhibition," held at the 7788 Contemporary Art Space in Chengdu, China, from November 19 to December 31, 2009. It features eight Chinese visual artists. The set includes one representative work and one profile plate for each artist, along with a poster featuring portraits of all eight. The cover—a large-format poster folded into shape—doubles as a pocket to hold the plates; while the design is excellent, there are no credits listed.

「DIZYGOTIC INTERGROWTH」はアーティストの高明昔(Gao Mingxi)とプロデューサーの王怡(Wang Yi)が牽引するアートプロジェクトであり、社会、地域、民族、個人間の差異という問題を探求し、これまでに巡回展、出版物、セミナーなど、様々な活動を展開している。本書では中国本土と台湾から14名のアーティストを招き、共通の歴史的背景と異なる社会環境でありながらも、両岸の若手アーティストたちの創作における共通点と相違点について意見交換を行った。彼らは「Foam Talents Call」、「三影堂写真賞」、「アルル国際写真フェスティバル」など、海外での展覧会や受賞歴を持つ。大小様々な形態をした冊子を一つのビニールバッグの中に封入した造本設計。

"DIZYGOTIC INTERGROWTH" is an art project led by artist Gao Mingxi and producer Wang Yi. It explores issues surrounding differences—whether societal, regional, ethnic, or individual—through a variety of activities, including traveling exhibitions, publications, and seminars. For this volume, fourteen artists from mainland China and Taiwan were invited to exchange views on the commonalities and differences in their creative practices, reflecting on their shared historical background set against distinct social environments. The participating artists have garnered international recognition, including awards and exhibitions at events such as the "Foam Talents Call," the Three Shadows Photography Award, and the Rencontres d'Arles. The book features a unique design in which booklets of varying sizes and formats are enclosed within a single vinyl bag.

日本の幕末期に横浜に滞在し、東アジアを撮った初期の写真家としても知られているフェリーチェ・ベアト(1832-1909)のオリジナルプリント2枚のセット。台紙の裏表にそれぞれ貼り付けられており、1枚がお茶汲みの女性、もう1枚が尼僧二人のポートレイト。元々は顧客に販売していたアルバムから剥がし、台紙へ貼り付けたものかと思われる。プリント技法は当時の主流でもあった鶏卵紙に彩色を施している。「お茶くみ」のイメージは、東京都写真美術館にも収蔵されている人気のあるイメージであり、2025年4月に東京都写真美術館の総合開館30周年記念TOP コレクション展「不易流行」でも展覧された作品。また「尼」の方はJ・ポール・ゲティ美術館所蔵のイメージであり、彼の代表作『Views of Japan』に所収の一枚だが、背景の仕様が異なることから、顧客向けに特別に制作したアルバムの一枚と思われる。これらのプリントには撮影からプリントまでをベアト本人が手がけたベアト版と、のちにベアトからネガを引き継いだライムント・フォン・シュティルフリート(1839-1911)とヘルマン・アンデルセンによるシュティルフリート・アンド・アンデルセン版の両方が存在するが、最終的には結論が出せず。いずれにせよこれらの写真は、単なる外国人用のお土産用写真としてではなくアートしても認められており、また幕末期の日本文化を知る貴重な瞬間を捉えていることは間違いない。

This is a set of two original prints by Felice Beato (1832–1909), a photographer active in Yokohama during the Bakumatsu period and renowned for his images of East Asia. The prints are mounted on either side of a single backing card: one depicts a woman serving tea, while the other is a portrait of two Buddhist nuns. They appear to have been removed from an album originally sold to a client and subsequently mounted on this card. The prints utilize the hand-colored albumen process, which was the prevailing technique of the era. The "tea-serving woman" image is a popular one—held in the collection of the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum—and was featured in the museum's April 2025 exhibition, "Fueki-Ryuko" (Permanence and Change), commemorating the 30th anniversary of its full opening. The image of the nuns is also part of the J. Paul Getty Museum's collection and appears in Beato's seminal work, *Views of Japan*; however, differences in the background suggest this specific print may have come from a custom-made album created for a specific client. While such prints can exist in two versions—those produced entirely by Beato himself, and those later produced by Raimund von Stillfried (1839-1911) and Hermann Andersen "Stillfried & Andersen" using Beato's original negatives—a definitive attribution could not be reached in this instance. Regardless, these photographs are recognized not merely as souvenirs for foreigners but as genuine works of art, and they undoubtedly capture precious moments that offer insight into Japanese culture during the Bakumatsu period.
