This book examines the cultural context of Jeff Wall's remarkable achievement in photography. It presents 25 of his own photographs, taken from the late 1970s to the present, alongside works by visionary names such as Marcel Duchamp, Diane Arbus, and Eugene Atget in 10 chapters. Each chapter begins with an interview with Wall by Hans de Wolf. It also includes testimonials and essays by artists and art historians close to Wall, including Luc Tuymans, Lawrence Weiner, Michael Fried, and David Campany. It was produced in conjunction with an exhibition held at the Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels (BOZAR) in Belgium in 2011.
