Six, a visual magazine by Comme des Garcons, was produced in a total of eight issues over a four-year period from 1988 to 1991, with Inoue Tsuguya as art director and fashion editor Kosashi Atsuko (1933-1993) as editor. The second issue is based on the five keywords "parallel, similar, mirror, transformation, and fusion," and features photos from the 1988 Fall/Winter collection of Comme des Garcons, fashion photos by Peter Lindbergh and others, and works by Leiko Ikemura and Gilbert & George. Incidentally, two of Gilbert & George's works were created specifically for this book. The cover, a neo-objectivist plant photo by Karl Blossfeldt, is very impactful. The print run was 26,000 copies, and was distributed only to valued customers.
