Shinya Soshosha, founded by poet and editor Saito Shinji (1939-2023), is known for publishing poetry and haiku anthologies, but this is the first of a few photo books. Asai Shinpei is best known for his advertising photography and subsequent television appearances, but it is noteworthy that he published such a photo book at a relatively young stage in his career. All pages are monochrome and landscape oriented, and it is a typical example of the so-called "contemporary photography," which was clearly influenced by "Contemporary Photographers-Toward A Social Landscape."
