The year is 1996. Alec Soth, then 26 years old and still unknown, was working at a lab in Minnesota, USA, developing and printing photographs. He spent his days in the lab's darkroom, printing happy photos of families in the American Midwest, and going to bars at night. This book is made up entirely of photographs he took around that time. He would print out the photos he had taken while working in the darkroom, secretly attach them to the inside legs of his jeans, and take them outside to his car, walking like a robot. This is a book that will help you get in touch with the origins of photographer Alec Soth.
