This is the debut photobook by photographer Yuji Hamada. It presents a revised version of his "Pulsar" series—originally created to make the light inherent in everyday life tangibly visible—re-titled for this publication. The images were captured using long exposures: the photographer would set up a Linhof large-format camera in an outdoor setting during the day, dress in black, and ignite a smoke flare. These photographs, revealing phenomena invisible to the naked eye through the camera's mechanics, compel the viewer to reflect on the fundamental nature of photography—a medium that relies on light. The book’s design is also intriguing, featuring a unique combination of French-style binding and a slipcase.
