Photographer Shomei Higashimatsu (1930-2012) owns a collection of photographs published by the publishing company Shaken. A book that conveys the state of Shinjuku, which was chaotic at the time due to the anti-Vietnam War movement and student movements. From the impactful angle of the cover, the layout of the bleeds, and the continuous arrangement of the photos, all the existence of the photo book gives us a glimpse of what Shinjuku was like at the time. Four promotional flyers introducing publications of the time are also included.
