Born in Hokkaido, photographer Eiji Ohashi has been freelancing since 2010, and takes pictures of vending machine scenes alongside his commercial photography work. This book features scenes with Coca-Cola vending machines installed throughout Japan, with a focus on Hokkaido. It is a masterpiece that took nine years to complete as a life's work. In particular, the photographs of vending machines standing against the snow in Hokkaido in winter are familiar as a new, indigenous Japanese landscape. The photographer says that he "takes pictures of vending machines in an anthropomorphic way." It is no exaggeration to say that these are portraits of vending machines. At the end of the book, there is a message from the then president of Coca-Cola Japan Co., Ltd., and it is clear that he had the manufacturer's full understanding.
