William Eggleston held the first color photography exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 1976, and is a central figure in the movement that later became known as New Color. This book is his photo book published in 1989. It is interesting to learn what the title DEMOCRATIC means at this time of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War between East and West. Contains 150 color illustrations. The preface is by Eudora Welty (1909-2001), a female writer from the American South. Great Britain edition.
