This book is a humorous observation of modern society that ties together all of Martin Parr's color photography projects. It starts with British homes and then spreads out across the world, passing through theme parks and seaside resorts, photographing middle-class people at home and on their shopping trips. He encounters consumer culture that stretches from Britain to the foot of the Pyramids, the Eiffel Tower and a McDonald's in Moscow. The humorous moments are often satirical, but they also highlight the problems of a capitalist society.
