Verve, a French art magazine, is renowned as the most beautiful in the world. Founded in 1937 by Teriard, an editor of art magazines and books, it was published intermittently until 1960, with a total of 38 issues (26 volumes). It featured lithographs of Picasso, Matisse, and Miro, as well as photographs by Man Ray and Brassai. Utilizing the best printing technology of the time, it was ingenious in its use of different printing paper depending on the subject. This book is an abridged version of Verve, published in collaboration with Flammarion, a publisher in Paris, France, and Yoshii Gallery. The covers of all issues have been reproduced, and key essays and other articles have been compiled into a single volume, with separate Japanese translations of commentaries and essays included.
