This collection of portraits by Richard Avedon (1923-2004), a fashion photographer and accomplished portraitist, begins with a childhood selfie, then moves on to a diverse range of subjects, including Andy Warhol and members of the Factory, Truman Capote, Jean Genet, and Buckminster Fuller, as well as fellow photographer Robert Frank, and concludes with a portrait of his own father. Avedon's technique of capturing the individuality of his subjects against a simple white background is truly his signature. Signed.
