Mike Disfarmer (real name Mike Meyer) who ran a photo studio in Hiber Springs, a small country town in Arkansas, USA. Many eccentricities have been left as legends, but it wasn't until 15 years (1974) after his death that the focus was on such a quirky person. His first photo book was published in 1976, and the name of Disfarmer became known all over the world. His enormous portraits are as artistic as the portraits of August Sander (1876-1964), but they also have folk interest in the sense of records of the people who lived at that time.
