Hajime Kimura was born in Chiba Prefecture in 1982. After graduating from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture, he began working as a photographer in earnest in 2006. He chose his career as a photographer to express another reality hidden behind human society and existence itself. He is currently photographing mainly in Japan, China, and Southeast Asia. This book contains photographs taken in the Matagi village, where hunting has been practiced since ancient times. He carefully pointed his camera at the four seasons of Matagi village, including slash-and-burn cultivation, hunting, and food harvesting.
