As the cover says, "Japan's first circus photo book," this is a unique photo book by photographer and film director Seiichi Motohashi, who closely followed circus troupes and turned his camera on both the front and back of them. From the scene of the tents being set up and the performers' postures and expressions backstage, to the days of practicing and the serious competition during the show, it records five of the six circus troupes that were operating at the time in the late 1970s. This book is signed by the author and addressed to the artist Teruo Hatano (1935-2004).
