Photographer Bill Brand (1904-1983) was born in Hamburg, Germany. He spent most of his childhood in Germany and Switzerland. He worked as an assistant to Man Ray (1890-1976) before going independent in Paris. In 1931, he moved to England to photograph the "The English at Home" project. In 1936, the series was compiled and published as a book. In the 1930s and 1940s, he photographed workers in mining and industrial areas of Northern England in a series published in Lilliput and Picture Post magazines. These series were highly praised for their empathetic and classic style in the history of photography. This book is a compilation of his surrealist series of nudes taken in studios and on location over a period of 35 years, and is one of his most famous works. As the title suggests, his style is experimental, making use of the perspective of the space and the subject. This is the UK version.
