VERY was launched in 1997 by editor Uscha Pohl, who had experience as a model and personal assistant to Vivienne Westwood, at her own art and fashion space, VERY UP & CO, in Tribeca, New York. Since the late 1990s, the magazine has been known as one of the pioneering magazines focusing on the fusion of fashion and art, and has gained cult popularity as a modern collector's item. The photo editor, including the cover photo, was Angela Hill, co-founder of London bookstore IDEA. It has an independent feel similar to the early days of Self Service. This is the third issue.
