Fuchikami Hakuyo and the Photographers in Manchuria
This is the sixth volume in the Japanese Photographers Series published by Iwanami Shoten. It compiles the works of Hakuyo Fuchigami (1889-1960), who presided over the photo collection "Hakuyo" during the Taisho period and developed a style aiming for abstract forms in still life and landscape photography, as well as the works of photographers belonging to the Manchurian Photographers Association, which was formed in 1932 with Fuchigami at its core. Incidentally, members of the association included Yashio Baba, Chuji Okada, Zen'emon Yoneki, Tatsuo Isshiki, and Satoshi Unoki.
