Herb Ritts (1952-2002) was born to a Jewish family with a father of a furniture worker and a mother of an interior designer. He initially worked in furniture, which was also a family business, but moved to the East Coast to attend Bard College in New York, where he majored in economics and art history. He then lived in Los Angeles, where he began his career as a photographer by filming Richard Gere, who was also the egg of his friend's still actor. In 1981, he shot Brooke Shields and was appointed to the cover of the magazine "ELLE". After that, he also shot album jackets for Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" and Madonna's "True Blue". From the 1980s to the 90s, he shot a number of celebrities and became a fashion photographer at the time. At the Ritz exhibition held at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston from 1996 to 1997, the number of spectators was over 250,000, and it can be said that its influence was great. However, in 2002, he died at the young age of 50 after inducing pneumonia due to weakened immunity caused by AIDS. This book is a comprehensive collection of his works up to 1996, compiling 240 works from various fields such as portraits, fashion photography, nudity, and African landscapes, and the whole picture of Herb Ritts as an artist. You can be overlooked.
