"Enjoy! Visual Life Magazine" is the catchphrase, and the photo magazine "Shagaku" was first published in June 1980. At the height of its heyday, more than 200,000 copies were published as a magazine that conveys the fun and breadth of photographs from a perspective different from existing camera magazines and graph magazines, treating photographs as media for visual entertainment. The logo is Makoto Wada (1936-2019), the art directer is Keisuke Nagatomo (1939-2017) of K2 design duo, and Kishin Shinoyama is appointed as the main photographer, shooting people such as Momoe Yamaguchi and John Lennon. It was a gorgeous production team like a major publisher. Unfortunately, it was pushed down by the momentum of the later rival magazine "SUPER PHOTO MAGAZINE", and the number of copies was gradually reduced, ending in the February 1986 issue.
