Philip-Lorca diCorcia's outdoor photography for his "Hustlers" series, which explored male prostitution in Hollywood in the 1990s, led him to delve deeper into the world of street photography. This book is described as an interpretation of human behavior on the streets of various cities around the world, including New York and Los Angeles. With a hidden camera firmly fixed on the broad streets, and meticulously scrutinized compositions and precisely controlled flash photography, he captures mysterious moments that resemble everyday scenes yet are like scenes from a movie. Rather than simply incorporating chance encounters into the elements of a snapshot, the photographer's true strength lies in his ability to control and create images even in environments where chance can easily get lost. This is a form of expression that has become increasingly lost in recent years.
