This is the second self-published photo book by photographer Takeshi Tokitsu, whose work focuses on cities, people, and contemporary society. Marking the 100th anniversary of the Showa era in 2025, this collection attempts to visualize the underlying mood of Japanese society by combining wartime and postwar newspapers with photos of Yasukuni Shrine, a symbol of the country's militarism, and the Great East Japan Earthquake and COVID-19 pandemic. The use of Polaroid photographs eliminates the time period, emphasizing the visual similarities between the present and the past. The book is bound in a codex style with a spine-opening binding (Swiss binding) for easy opening. Signed.
