Photographer Yamashita Tsuneo first visited Okinawa in 1983 when he was a photography student. Since then, he has made numerous trips to Okinawa, taking photographs, printing them, and storing them in boxes, a process he has continued to undertake without any fuss. This book is a compilation of photographs taken in the Ryukyu Islands between 1983 and 2008. He has visited 16 islands, including Okinawa Island. This book allows us to follow the gaze of this photographer, who was born in Tokyo but was captivated by Okinawa.
