This photo book by Beijing-based photographer Yang Yuanyuan combines a travelogue and a scrapbook, lacking a table of contents and instead consisting of three chapters of images gleaned from various sources. These fragments, titled "War," "City," and "Connection," incorporate snapshots, diaries, and found photographs he created and collected during a 10-day stay in Krakow, Poland, as well as cleverly quoted fragments from three of his works: "The Skycrawlers" (Mamoru Oshii), "The Invisible City" (Italo Calvino), and "A Few Things I Know About Her" (Jean-Luc Godard). The book is constructed in a three-dimensional way, as if there is a loose relationship between the appropriations of the three existing works and the records and photographs he created from his own experiences and life. The book is meticulously crafted, with paste-ups, small window-like cutouts, and foldouts.
