This is a biography of dancer and choreographer Michio Ito (1893-1961), whose talent was celebrated in Paris by Claude Debussy, in England by William Butler Yeats and George Bernard Shaw, and by thousands in America. Written by Helen Caldwell (1904-1987), a writer who attended Ito's classes during his lifetime, this book introduces Ito's highly acclaimed dance as a pioneer of modern dance, with abundant photographs and text. This is the Japanese version of the original work published by the University of California Press in 1977.
