This photo book by Osaka-based photographer Itsuro Naraki focuses on people. It consists entirely of portraits of homeless people taken between 1993 and 1999. Photographing the subjects in monochrome against simple backgrounds, it eloquently speaks to the harsh lives of these people, who likely lived without a permanent home and wore all their possessions. Fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto once described the clothing of nomads as cool, even though it stinks when you get close, and said that this was the ideal he aspired to. I agree. Signed.
