This is a photo collection of ikebana arrangements by Sofu Teshigahara (1900-1979), the founder of the Sogetsu school of ikebana. The photographer was Ken Domon (1909-1990), who was such a close friend of Teshigahara's that they were called brothers. Of the 24 ikebana photographs included, at least one is a Fujicolor photograph taken by Fujifilm. At the time, color photography technology was still unstable, so it is presumed that they had great difficulty in expressing the colors accurately. Also noteworthy is "The Locomotive," an important early work by Teshigahara, which is featured not only in color across a two-page spread, but also in monochrome sequential photographs of the production process. The dedication signature is from Domon to Ichiro Sugi, and since Sugi was the head of advertising at Fujifilm, Domon probably presented the book to him as a token of his gratitude.
