This is Daido Moriyama's masterpiece, which completely destroys the results of photographic expression that had been achieved by countless photographers through trial and error since the birth of photography technology. By enlarging other people's negatives and ignoring any imperfections, blurs, out-of-focus images, or scratches, these indistinguishable photographs have an overwhelming destructive power. Given the historical context of the time, it is not difficult to imagine that this work had a considerable impact on the public, but the damage it caused was no exception for Moriyama himself, who said goodbye to photography, and who subsequently fell into a long slump and turned to drugs. At the end of the book, there is a 30-page conversation with Takuma Nakahira, which took place at the Hilltop Hotel.
