Yayoi Kusama, known for her polka dot motifs, moved to the United States in the 1950s and quickly established herself as a representative of the New York avant-garde. Embodying the spirit of the 1960s, her groundbreaking and unclassifiable work challenged the dominant aesthetics of the time and asserted great freedom in form by using a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, video, installation, environment, and performance. Her activities at that time came to prominence in the United States with her radical performances known as "Kusama Happenings." This book is a reprint of a tabloid newspaper published in 1969 from her orgy performance period. The original was published 26 times in one year by Enterprise Modern Services.
